From Curtains to Roman Blinds: A Beautiful Way to Repurpose Fabric You Love

From Curtains to Roman Blinds: A Beautiful Way to Repurpose Fabric You Love

Give Your Curtains a Second Life

At Green Bee Interiors, we love creating custom-made Roman blinds from beautiful fabrics—and sometimes, that fabric has already had a life as something else. This recent project is the perfect example.

Our customer had a pair of statement curtains in a classic blue and ivory check that no longer fit their new windows. Rather than letting them go to waste, she asked us to turn them into a made-to-measure Roman blind. Not only did this breathe new life into the fabric, but it also created a stylish focal point for her space.

To finish the look, we added a deep blue fringe trim along the bottom edge—proof that repurposed doesn’t have to mean plain!

Why Repurpose Curtains into Roman Blinds?

  • Save Money: Fabric is one of the biggest costs when it comes to custom window dressings. Reusing existing curtains can reduce your spend considerably.

  • Reduce Waste: If you love the fabric, why not reuse it? It’s an eco-conscious choice that helps reduce landfill.

  • Perfect Fit: Roman blinds typically require less fabric than curtains, making them ideal for repurposing from smaller panels.

  • Stylish Results: With professional craftsmanship and custom extras like trims or blackout lining, the final look is completely bespoke.

Thinking of Doing the Same?

We offer a bespoke Roman blind service using your own fabric—even if it comes in the form of pre-loved curtains. Whether you’ve moved house or are simply refreshing your space, we’ll help you turn something old into something beautiful.

How it works:

  1. Get in touch with your window measurements.

  2. We’ll confirm the amount of fabric required and provide a quote.

  3. Post your fabric to us—we’ll do the rest.

  4. Your custom blind will be delivered within 3–4 weeks of receiving your fabric.
