Transforming Your Fabric into Custom Roman Blinds: A Bold Bespoke Makeover with Blackout Lining

At Green Bee Interiors, we love breathing new life into beautiful fabrics—and this recent project was no exception.

Our customer had a striking ikat-style curtain fabric they adored, but it no longer fit their windows after a move. Instead of letting it go to waste, they sent it to us to transform into a made-to-measure Roman blind. The result? A one-of-a-kind window dressing with serious wow factor!

Made from Your Own Fabric

A large portion of the cost of custom window treatments is the fabric itself. Reusing your own material—whether it’s beloved curtains, leftover designer fabric, or a special textile—means you save money and give cherished pieces a second life.

Customised to Your Needs

For this blind, the customer requested a dark blackout lining to complement the rich tones in the fabric and enhance light control—perfect for a dramatic, cosy space. We hand-sew all linings with traditional techniques, ensuring no visible stitching on the face of the blind.

The Finishing Touches

The blind was mounted on a deluxe chain-operated headrail and tested thoroughly to ensure smooth, reliable movement. Every detail is carefully finished by hand—right down to the final stitch.
